Summer in January

The weather has really warmed up the last few days and we're starting to sweat at -8 degrees (celsius, that is...). But at least it has started snowing again. And it's a good thing I like boots so much.

Today Rich is really excited because his copy of "My Winnepeg" has arrived. Apparently it's one of the most mind-blowing pieces of cinema to come out in recent years so I'm excited to watch it. Last night we watched "Sunrise" by Murnau- the same guy who did "Nosferatu". I never forget the first time I saw Nosferatu. Sunrise is "A song of two humans". I'm thinking of having that be the catch phrase of our wedding.

Things are pretty exciting on  the wedding front. We picked out our cake today and I know what I'm going to walk down the aisle to. I think that maybe it's bad luck to tell all before the day so I'll leave it at this: birds and slide guitars. Lemons and blueberries and lots and lots of birch branches.

In other news, Andrew Wyeth, painter of "Christina's World" died this week at 91.

So long, Mr. Wyeth.
